The Dynamixel AX-12W is a variant of the Dynamixel AX-12A where the W stands for Wheel. This servo has a lower gear ratio but a higher RPM than the AX-12A making it ideal as a wheel motor. The motor can track its speed, temperature, voltage and load. You can also adjust the motor control algorithm to adjust its speed and strength. All of the sensor management and control position is handled but the servo's build-in microcontroller. This distributed approach leaves your main controller free to perform other tasks.
The Dynamixel AX-12W is fully compatible in terms of size and form factor with the AX-12A and AX-18A.
