The Mux Shield II adds extra I/O to your Arduino board (up to 48 inputs and outputs). This second iteration of the Mayhew Labs Mux Shield II fix some of the defects of the first design like I/O pins that are now located on the back of the board so that you can now stack another shield on top of it and still get access to the 48 extra I/O for reading for dozens of sensors or actuators.
Save on shipping by ordering directly from our store a compatible TE connectivity connector you can solder on the Mux Shield II. We have 2 models; the TE Connectivity 5650868-5 is right-angle mounted so that you can stack one shield on top of another one, the TE Connectivity 5535070-4 is perfect for connection on top of the shield.
Inputs and outputs are arranged at the back of the board as 3 rows of 16 I/O. Each row can be set as digital inputs, digital outputs or analog inputs.
The Mux Shield II uses a clever combination of multiplexers, shift registers, and control signals to accomplish this but don’t worry – it’s all wrapped up in a easy-to-use library that comes with examples. Have a look at the User Guide below for more information.
